The University boasts numerous interdisciplinary projects in a broad range of subjects and an extensive partner network with leading institutions on a regional, national and international scale.The Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL ) of the University of Hamburg, LAOLA collaboration between DESY and University of Hamburg, is operating a 200 TW laser lab and two dedicated beamlines for laser-plasma acceleration, inluding undulators driven by laser-plasma generated beams.
